SHE’S BACK! The unstoppable Indiana brings us a new review…
OMG!!!! This was the first book in a long time that I cried at least 3 times!
This book is the most touching book I have read in a long time. It was so amazing! It took you through the poor peoples lives and what it’s like to be poor. It is a great read and opens your eyes to what its like if you look outside the box. When I was reading this book I was a bit cheeky and because I couldn’t put it down I would wait for mum and dad to turn on the TV and then I went under the covers and read. (Sorry mum and dad I only did it with this book )
Anyway, the book was about three boys – Raphael Gardo and Jun Jun- Better known as Rat. Their days are spent scavenging through trash or as they call it- Stuppa. They search through it all day everyday hoping to find some food or if there lucky – clothes. One day the police come down asking around if they’d found a small leather bag. Some people asked why and all the police said was that it was to help a big crime. Raphael and Gardo said they knew nothing. Or do they know something? The police have there suspicions and stay on their tracks. Raphael and Gardo ask Rat to help them when the police find out their hiding something and the go on the run.
This is an amazing book and I loved every page.
I recommend this book to 14+ seeing as there is swearwords and violent chapters. (Might I point out that I am not terrible parent, letting Indiana read a book that has violent chapters and swearing, I have read this book and deemed it quite suitable for a mature Year 6 reader)
Love Indi.

you’ve completely sold me. looking forward to getting my hands on a copy
love your crying confession
i adore books that make me cry.
also, our Aussie cover is WAY nicer than another i’ve seen somewhere on the net.
(i like your parent input, Ty
Thanks India, I finished reading Trash a few weeks ago, and like you was so struck with the conditions these boys live in and the fact that many live this way this very minute while we sit on our laptops blogging about it. It was so clever the way Andy Mulligan intigrated a mystery/whodunit scenario into this type of location. It was difficult to face some of the realities of life, particularly because I have children the same age as the main characters, I still really enjoyed this book.
i started this months ago and (shamefully) put it down… i think i was distracted by something bright and shiny.
i will have to go back and open it up again. thanks indi
