Ohgoodlord did this book hurt me.

Which, considering how I felt after reading If I Stay, should not have come as a surprise.

At the time, I found myself so terribly devastated by If I Stay, I was truly incapable of writing a review.

Where She Went, has left me feeling much the same. Gayle Forman is an author so talented, I feel that anything I might have to say about her novels, might somehow, diminish them.

Again I find myself struggling to formulate thoughts or words that might adequately convey the sheer enormity of emotion Gayle Forman’s writing seems to provoke from me. Her novels are breathtaking, poignant, gut wrenching and so very, very heartbreaking.

In the end, all I can really say to you is this…

If you wish to read a novel that will reach out with hands, both warm and icy, grip your shoulders tight, pin you to the chair and make you feel as though all the air has been sucker punched out of you, read If I Stay and Where She Went….you will never forget them.

But whatever you do, DO NOT read them both at once! You may never recover.

Stunning masterpieces of human emotion, both.

(Very Special Thanks, to my dear friend for sharing this novel and her experience of it, with me- you know who you are :)

Well, I’ll have to read ‘If I Stay’ again because I read all the hype, searched it out and was underwhelmed and now there’s a sequel. It may just provide the answers and satisfaction I desire.

Thank you for the PD yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed your presentations and ideas.

I’ve been struggling to get our school up to speed with WEB 2.0. and to encourage a reading culture.

Oh really?! See, I guess I was lucky, I missed all of the hype and read it very early on, so I adored it and was able to form an opinion without any other influencing factors.
I honestly did adore it though and Where She Went- was even better!!!

You are most welcome! Thank you for being there! I greatly appreciate you taking the time to give feedback, even if it does make me blush :)

Tis an endless struggle isnt it? Sigh. I wish it were just a ‘blanket effect’ and people just got it and loved it. Makes me wonder why it has to be so hard :(

As for me, I would give my left arm to write reviews like yours. And have your hair. Cos I think you are super awesome :)
